Three Flags

Three flags are flown daily symbolizing the three nations which have held Fort Niagara. The fort was built by the French in 1726. Taken by the British in 1759. First occupied by the United States in 1796. Retaken by the British in 1813. Coming finally in 1815 under the flag of the United States of America.
