Corning Museum of Glass
We had been told by our friends Jay & Millie from SVR to be sure and go to Corning, NY to see this museum... boy were we glad they did! The Corning Museum of Glass is the world's largest glass museum. We were very surprised at the size of the museum and all the various glass works and the education on the different uses and types of glass. Probably the most surprising to us was that Corning came up with the material for fiber optics. They developed the product and had no market for it until the digital age. They also developed the glass used in the windows of the space shuttles.
