5/30/11 - Hudson River Valley - 111 miles

Onto the Huson River Valley through the Catskill Mountains! When we thought of New York we had the impression of large cities, big buildings, concrete and lots of people. We were surprised at how heavily forrested it is. It's pretty from the freeways, but when you get off of them you are out in the country with beautiful farms and houses. We saw lots of small dairys on the way to the Catskills. Since this was Memorial Day we went through a couple of little towns that everyone was coming out for their parades. Small towns seem so much more patriotic....we felt like we were part of the parade!
