6/12/11 - The Citadelle
The Citadelle located on a hill constitutes the eastern flank of Quebec's fortifications and is known as the Gibraltar of America. Construction began in 1820 and lasted more than 30 years. It is in a star shape and is the largest active fortress built in North America. To enter it we drove down this narrow entrance that is shown in the last picture.
