Jeri - our hitchhiker
Just before the ferry landed Pat and Richard started talking to this girl. Jeri was a marine biologist from Alberta, Canada. She was on a two week vacation hitch-hiking by herself through the maritimes. She was going to St. Anthony and that is where we were headed so asked her to go along with us. She road to St. Anthony with Richard & Karen, pitched her tent under our big slide and had a spaghetti supper with us and we visited with her for awhile. I can't imagine doing something like that on my own. She didn't have reservations for the ferry and in fact only got to the ferry dock five minutes before the ferry left.....most of the time these hitchhikers make better time than we do....she was 50 miles away from the ferry when we were waiting in line! We asked her what her folks thought about it.....and she said "well actually they think I'm in Halifax drinking wine with my friends".
