Cape Bonavista Lighthouse
This square two-story wooden structure was built around a masonry tower and took two years to build....it was put into operation in 1843. With the exception of the tower and the light room, the lighthouse has been restored to the 1870 period. The living quarters have been furnished and decorated as they would have appeared in 1870 when Jeremiah White, still a lightkeeper at 80 years of age was assisted by his son and their families lived there. It was a really pretty lighthouse to tour.
