Main exhibits
The main exhibits consist of preserved or "mounted" specimens with live insects interspersed. The owl butterfly possess a very effective method of defense. If they are surprised or bothered they spread their wings and expose two big yellow marks. To their enemies this looks like the eyes of a threatening owl. They also mimic the behaviour of an owl by flying only in the late evening at dusk and early morning.
