8/6/11 - L'Anse aux Meadows - Day trip

Yesterday driving to St. Anthony and then again this morning we saw lots of wood piled along the highway....wood drying in tee-pee stacks, logs to cut and then lots of cut logs all stacked in nice even rows. Each person knows where their wood is and no one else bothers it and they just bring it to their homes as needed....the ranger @ L'Anse aux Meadows told us he use to haul it all into his backyard and then his backyard was full of wood so now he justs brings in smaller amounts.
