6/22/11 - Historic Acadian Village

We had a beautiful sunny day and headed off to the Historic Acadian Village. This is really going to be a challenge to post on the blog - hopefully we won't bore you with pictures - we just found it very interesting - we took over 500 pictures. When you purchase your ticket it is good for two days...we only spent one day here but I can see where if Acadian was your heritage you could easily spend a couple of days...we really enjoyed stepping back in time here and interacting with the Acadian people. The village depicts activities from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries with houses, farms, and general stores....with over 50 historical buildings on site. There were bilingual interpreters all along the way. The first farm we came to supplied wood to the village and had a smoker for cooking - it was built in 1852.
