We went to another "Ceilidh" tonight and did we ever find a good one. "Ceilidh" is pronounced "KAY-lee". Traditionally, a ceilidh is a get-together or a party with lots of music, storytelling and dancing. The Brackley Beach Ceilidh is more organized than traditional ceilidhs. Guest musicians are booked months in advance to ensure a fantastic line-up all summer long. The atmosphere is relaxed though, with lots of spontaneous moments and some unexpected guests. There are lots of fiddle tunes...this is the 8th season for Cynthia McCloud and her family putting on this Ceilidh. Her cousin did step-dancing and her father did a fiddle number at the end. The guest musicians were Mike Pendergast and Leon Galant.....it was interesting throughout the rest of the week on PEI we ran into them in a couple different places. We know this won't be our last Ceilidh....hopefully when we get into the Cape Breton area of NS there is a trail called "The Ceilidh Trail" we will be able to catch a few more.

May 3, 2011 finds us back on the road for six months, headed for the Northeast and the Canadian Maritimes. As of September 2008 we now are full timers in our motorhome. We plan to see as much of the North American continent as we can.
When we are not traveling in the summer, we will make our home in Star Valley, WY where we have an RV lot.
Here we are able to play golf, fly model airplanes, quilting, line dancing, dance parties, play cards, swim and four wheel in the mountains. Star Valley is located just 50 miles south of Jackson Hole, WY and we are surrounded by mountains. The temperatures here are very comfortable for the summer. Winter is a different story and that is why we won't be there. Way to cold for us although Barb does like the winter snow so we will probably find some now and then.
