MacAuslands Woolen Mills

This had to be the strangest place we have visited yet. There was a large Welcome sign on their door pointing around the corner....so we went in the entrance and there was no one there. We walked in a little further and could see the machinery working in several areas. We walked in amongst the equipment and saw four people working....they looked up to see us....but none of them acknowledged that we were even there.....we toured the facility on our own and left....it was a really weird experience. OSHA would have had a field day in this place! This is really unusual since everyone has been so friendly and helpful on PEI. The last picture shows a large stack of wool sacks....this reminded me of when we sheared our sheep at my Grandparents and we would stack it down in these huge sacks and I never knew what the process was after that.....well today I saw how it is processed. Their advertising said that you could also purchase quality pieces....but we sure didn't see anything that looked like a store.
