Lycy Maud Montgomery

Lucy Maud Montgomery came to Cavendish to live with her maternal grandparents, the Macneill's, when she was just 21 months old. She loved her Cavendish home, the beautiful land around it and the blue St. Lawrence Gulf close beside it. She wrote Anne of Green Gables here, as well as three other novels, and many short stories and poems. The farmhouse and buildings are no longer standing...but it is a very peaceful place. One of the Macneill's granddaughters was working in the this gift shop and told us about the site.....the third picture is the site of the old farmhouse.
