6/21/11 - Caraquet, NB - 53 miles

We decided this morning to go ahead and go to The Acadian Peninsula and hope for good weather. Since we were going to be on Prince Edward Island over July 1st, which is Canada Day and a big celebration, we made reservations for a week at a KOA in Cavendish, PEI to cover us over the holiday. We also have reservations in Halifax, NS for a week....so campgrounds are settled for the next three weeks except for a couple of nights. Choosing campgrounds is probably one of the biggest issues in traveling, when you haven't been to an area before you never know what the campground is like until you get there. Our friends Hannah & Joe had sent us a list of the campgrounds they stayed at up here a couple of years ago, I'm using it as my guide....THANK YOU...Hannah! They also have an Alfa and going by their list we know we can get in. In Caraquet we are staying at a Passport America at half-price which is always nice on the budget! This campground was really narrow getting into a big field area in the back. We ran into our first RV Caravan here. There were 14 units in the Adventure Caravan and they were in the back where we were. We see so many of these little churches and most of them have a small cemetary by them.
