8/3/07 - 5th Day in Soldtna

We were off to Homer with Richard & Karen this morning. We have decided to leave the rigs in Soldotna and just do a day trip to Homer. Sheppard's & Barker's are staying back to do some more fishing out of Soldotna. They are all still pretty sore from their day of claming a couple of days ago. Homer is about 84 miles south of Soldotna, so it will be a long day alone for Addie & Cody. The drive down was very pretty and we had some great views of Cook Inlet and the mountains across Cook Inlet. Homer is a beautiful area. While in Homer we went to the Alaska Islands & Ocean Visitor Center, this is an interpretive and educational facility for the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. This facility allows visitors to "virtually visit" the remote Alaska coastline through interactive exhibits that capture the islands, rocky coastline, seabirds and marine mammals. Wildlife sightings today: 4 Eagles, 3 Moose. If you want to see where we are currently (8/12/07) go to: http://map.datastormusers.com/user2.cfm?user=2430
