8/16/07 - South of Tok to Beaver Creek, Yukon - 135 miles

We did a little shopping when we went through Tok this morning. Then we filled up with diesel, jeep gas and propane....needless to say it wasn't a cheap stop! But it will be the cheapest fuel we will have for awhile. We ran into some pretty bad roads today on the Alaska Highway. We stopped for the night in Beaver Creek so that we could go to the Rendezvous Dinner Show at the Westmark Inn (we didn't do the dinner....went to Buckshot Betty's instead). The fireplace and the open sky in this rustic log roundhouse are the setting for the live musical about the pioneers, historical characters and locals who make the Yukon a special place. It was a really good show and the lead characters were excellent singers. Thanks, Karen for the suggestion to stop here! Wildlife sightings today: None.
