At the Visitor Center they told us that the Ceilidh tonight had two professional performers.....so naturally Pat and I went....and it was excellent. When we got there and this very young girl walks in we had no idea she was the main event. Rachel Davis and Buddy MacDonald were the two performers, they have been playing together for six years and they had a lot of interaction with the audience. Someone asked how much they practice....and she said "Never" .....they tried it once six years ago for 15 minutes and it didn't work! The Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh is held every night in July and August at St. Michael's Parish. The lady that runs it also asked for four-couple volunteers to learn a square dance....it was funny watching her trying to get them all in their right places.
