Hooked Rugs
On a jute or hemp canvas, the craftswoman draws with colorful scraps of wool or fabrics a design. She uses the colors at her disposal, which come from old clothes too wornout to warrant any mending. One by one, the threads are pulled in with a fine hook, more often than not a nail where a small notch has been filled.
