9/1/07 - Hyder/Stewart to Houston, BC - 244 miles
It was raining pretty hard when we got up this morning....we are looking forward to being out of this rain that we have had the past 3 days. The big draw here was the BEARS! It was a really pretty drive back on the Glacier Highway to the junction to catch the Cassair Highway. Lots of waterfalls and glaciers and we saw some new snow on the mountain peaks! We probably won't be seeing many glaciers from this point on. Our next junction was with the Yellowhead Highway headed east toward Prince George, BC. We were in the beautiful Bulkley Valley with Hudson Bay Mountain as the backdrop. This is where the Disney movie "Eight Below" was filmed up on the glacier. This was a really pretty area, but we drove on to Houston for the night. Wildlife sightings today: None.
