Fresnel Lens

This light comes on every night at dark, is still used by mariners and is maintained by the US Coast Guard. The lens does not rotate and there is a mechanism that automatically switches to a new bulb if the first one burns out. The 1000 watt bulb in the lens is visible for 14 miles.
