The first picture shows one of the many piles of granite waste.....we couldn't understand why some of these couldn't be used, as you can see some are pretty big pieces, however they did say that the Vermont Highway Department had been using some of it for fill in repairing damage after Hurricane Irene's destruction. Granite blocks are cut with diamond saws, polished, and used for both interior and exterior building design. Granite is elaborately etched for cemetery memorials as well. The manufacturing work area was huge as you can see in the last picture.
