7/19/07 - 3rd Day in Wasilla

Dan & Jenny knew a number of people (family & friends) either living in the Wasilla/Palmer area or visiting in this area....so we probably won't see much of them until we head to the Kenai Peninsula. We have decided to stay put here another day, but we will have to leave on Sunday. Richard & Karen and us were going to head to Anchorage around 11:00 but Larry & Marcheta Barker (the couple from the other evening) stopped by to tell us goodbye and exchange names & addresses, as they were moving down to Anchorage to wait for some parts that were due in. We ended up talking to them for over 2 hours. They decided to move over to our area of the campground instead of heading down to Anchorage. They were scheduled to catch the ferry in Haines on August 16th so they were kinda on a time schedule they had to meet. We had hit it off so well with them that we said they were more than welcome to travel with us if they would like.....but we didn't think they should cancel their ferry reservations until they had traveled with us a few days. We asked them if they wanted to go to Anchorage since that is where we were headed. So all three of us took our own vehicles. We stopped for lunch and then headed to downtown Anchorage. After a little sight-seeing we headed our separate ways to do the shopping that each of wanted to do.....we made a Costco, WalMart and BestBuy run!
